There were lots of feedback this week, thank you!!
The main feedback was that the design met the requirements, but it can be more interesting. Another common feedback was that the dog looks like a cat, although I abstracted a photo of my dog and hardly changed anything. Consequently, I was a little surprised at this feedback, though on second thoughts, my dog does look like a cat. Someone commented that the ambiguity between a dog and a cat is good. However, I would prefer a clearer message? (And so I shall make my dog look more like a dog.) Suggestions for improvement include:
- Don't invert the colours and keep the outlines of the dog. Keep the nose. Abstract further instead, e.g. only keep the muzzle/nose/tongue.
- Colour the tongue red.
- Use longer/floppy ears.
- Draw a sharper muzzle.
- The left cheek is too wide. Keep it closer to the muzzle.
If I remember correctly, most people felt that the red "Superman" border was ok (please correct me if I'm wrong). However, I think I'm going to take the first suggestion and keep the outlines of the dog, as well as abstract it further. As such, I may not need the red border after improvement, and I'll probably change my company to a pet shop. It's allowed right?
Not to forget, I'll have to add my name, designation and contact to the name card, and experiment with layouts.
Ok, off to work!
