I aligned the letters of all designs to make them more readable.
Music
I did not change much for this design as there wasn't a lot of feedback, so it's probably clear enough. I did think of adding color, but then I also felt that stick men should be in black and white? Try to keep it simple...
Anyway, the feedback was that I could have put in more effort for this. So I think I'll add color for the next one and try out =)
Dogs
Dog 1
For this design, I made the dog look less obvious as suggested. I also combined the two designs, so that the dog faces right and it has the chewing toy. I also added color to the chewing toy, and lowered the opacity.
The feedback was that the drawings were too faint, although my name is very clear. Thus my job is to find the balance. However, Julian noticed another design I had that may be suitable (I forgot to present my thumbnails during the last critque session).
Dog 2
This design is much easier to read, but I didn't choose it because I thought it was boring. I colored using gradient to make the dogs look more realistic. Apart from improving legibility, I kept it like the thumbnail. I was thinking of Luo Lan's example, and thus didn't add a background.
The feedback was that this is a "good dog" and I should work on this. I actually prefer Dog 1 as it is more interesting, but I guess I don't have a lot of time to think about how to improve Dog 1, so I'll just work on this. Someone commented that the dogs look like mice, (which I totally agree - I can't draw dogs despite living with one) so I'll have to improve on that. I'll also have to space out "Xin" and "Yi", since they are two words on my Identity Card. (I usually type them together. But it doesn't matter;))
After seeing all the pretty designs in class, I have decided to really work hard and add color and background to my designs. Hope they work out! =)
