III. What are the differences between scripts before production and scripts which are ready for production (if any)?
Scripts may be original, or inspired by a book, a play or a true story. Before production, a synopsis of the story is written, and the story is developed as a narrative. Next, a step outline breaks down the story into numbered one-paragraph scenes. This includes indications for dialogue and character interactions.
Scripts ready for production are more detailed. Also known as screenplay, these scripts contain detailed description of every event and detail which will be seen on the screen. Characterization, dramatization, and the overall style and feel is included.
